The Crossroads of the Shenandoah Valley, including the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro, and the County of Augusta, offers a rich heritage with glorious scenery, natural wonders, and numerous historic, cultural and recreational activities. You will find museums, art galleries, Civil War sites, countless antique shops and malls, specialty shops, numerous delectable restaurants, and hospitable B&Bs, hotels and campgrounds.

The area abounds with mountain streams for fishing and hiking and biking trails in beautiful mountain and valley settings. Enjoy a tour of historic sites, caverns and shopping, or a romantic weekend with quiet nights and fine dining. A variety of seasonal activities and festivals are a treat - and the panoramic view of the Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains can't be beat!

The Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro, and the Augusta County area have the unique position of being the Crossroads of the Shenandoah Valley at the junction of I-81 and I-64, routes 11 and 250 with entrance from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.

Travelers are welcomed at attractions such as Woodrow Wilson Birthplace, Frontier Culture Museum, Grand Caverns, Natural Chimneys, along with the P. Buckley Moss Museum, the Artisans Center of Virginia and world famous Andre Viette Nursery.

Go back in time with a Shakespearean performance at the Blackfriars Playhouse, a replica of William Shakespeare’s original theater. Hospitality abounds at quaint B&Bs, brand hotels, local and national restaurants and numerous antique, gift and craft shops.

Also home of the Statler Brothers, the area celebrates with seasonal events such as the Virginia Fall Foliage Festival, Daylily and Wine Festival, the Blue Ridge Soap Derby and the Victorian Spring Festival.

I've lived all my life in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia, but recently, my family started thinking about moving to the Chesapeake / Virginia Beach area. We visited last week to look at real estate and fell in love with a couple of homes in Virginia Beach. We are seriously considering putting in an offer in one of the homes.
